The first 3 months, I were not so sure to keep on advertising in
'Veldmuis' Flippie convinced me not to stop but to continue, she
promised me that things will get better, the Veldmuis Readers need to trust
people and they gain trust from the continuity of an advert. She was
right, today I only advertise in Veldmuis, and I said to her that she can
say anything good about the Veldmuis, and I definitely backed her all the

Etsetra Printers - '75% van my werk kry
ek uit die Veldmuis. Die mense stap sommer so met die boekie in
die hand by my plek in en wys wat hulle wil hê. Ek sê dit al jare
vir jou, hoekom het jy my nog nooit in die Veldmuis aangehaal nie?' Dave
(Dave neem 'n volblad advertensie van die begin van die Veldmuis,
hulle doen blomme, trourokke, en troukaartjies - Dankie Duifie,
daar het ek jou nou aangehaal, en ek gaan dit sommer hier los)

nie meer nodig het om op ander plekke te adverteer nie' CJ

'You do appreciate the amount of junk mail we receive in our mail
boxes. It drives a person mad. Most of it is glanced through, then
just thrown away. There is an old English saying which goes
"One couldn't see the wood - for all the trees!!!" But,
one day, after having glanced about two thirds through "Die
Veldmuis," I happened to notice an article which totally captured my
attention. This forced me to go back to the front of the magazine,
(I could call it a magazine because of all the jewels hidden amongst the
adverts. I am not telling you a lie, but I went through the magazine 3
times incase I had missed anything. Not only was the concept of
placing these "GEMS" between the ads - but if the reader had any
brains, they would go through it at least twice - incase they had missed a
sale, and ... the brilliant wit scattered throughout the pages
............... How many other thousands were there who looked forward to
the next issue? I know I did. ............ I don't give a damn
walking down to the main road to find them, and if I do, I take
three. One for myself, my daughter (married with children), and my
neighbour. (This letter is 5 pages, but most appreciated)

terugvoering gekry as by julle nie..."

raakloop .... net teleurgestel dat jul diepsinnige aanhalings en
dubbelsinnige grappies saam publiseer. (Red - Mnr du Toit hou nie van
ons dubbelsinnige grappies "naughty-but-nice.." nie, ongelukkig
probeer ons om na al ons lesers te kyk, en die grappies is moontlik stout,
maar nie vulgêr nie, dit is wat elkeen maar daarvan maak)

Our People
Flippie Kotze - Founder of 'Die Veldmuis' started off with a 286 Computer
and a 10 meg hard drive. It took that computer more than 45 minutes
to save one page of 'Die Veldmuis'. She decided to quit her job as a
Flight Sergeant in the SA Air Force, buy a computer and work from home,
but she couldn't afford advertising, so she contacted a few other
advertisers in local newspapers and that's how it started.
'Die Veldmuis' grew from one staff member with help from her
family and friends to fourteen staff members. One home phone, six
telephones and two facsimile machines, and on top two cellular phones for
the convenience of the customers, and sometimes it's not enough.
